Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar (Divya Pujari: Metropolis Post News Service): Annamrut Foundation, an organization working under ISKCON, currently works to provide school nutrition to 40 thousand children in Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar district (mainly in the city) through a collective kitchen. Therefore, Annamrut Foundation is working to provide 'Angat-Pangat' to 40 thousand children in schools and schools every day.
There is a kitchen of ‘Annamrut’ in the CIDCO area of Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar. 20 such kitchens are run by ‘ISKCON’ in the country. One of them is in Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar. This kitchen serves food to about 38 thousand students in 168 schools (mainly in urban areas) and 3500 children in 80 kindergartens.
State-of-the-art kitchen
‘Annamrut’s kitchen is a kitchen built using state-of-the-art technology. Thermal insulator technology is used to prepare food in this kitchen. Due to this, food is cooked in the kitchen using heat without fire or smoke.
Large containers are used to deliver cooked food to the children. For this, each box is sealed and the seal is given a color code. Accordingly, the school principal can identify what is in that box. This food is delivered by a total of 14 vehicles. Moreover, GPS tracking is done on every vehicle through which this food is delivered. The vehicle leaving the kitchen cannot be stopped anywhere on the road except at traffic signals. It stops directly at the school. Therefore, the food can be delivered on time and in the shortest possible time.
Nutritious food
The organization's food preparation schedule includes veg pulao, veg khichdi, mugdal khichdi, chana khichdi, chana pulao, matar paneer rice, matki, soybean pulao, shevgyache mugdaliche varan, rice, in addition to chikki, dates. So that the children get to eat different flavors of food every day and nutritious food. For this, new foods and food ingredients are included in the diet, said Manager Sudarshan Potbhare.
Matar paneer dish and participation of dignitaries
Today, a matar paneer dish was made using tofu paneer. Municipal Additional Commissioner Smt. Kalpita Pimple, Director of Kale Group of Companies Ankit Kale, Chairman of Kaygaon Paper Mill Prakash Rathi, Senior Manager of Aligned Packaging Company Ravi Shankar Khanapure, Senior Manager of Mahico Group Milind Karanjikar and other dignitaries also enjoyed nutritious food with the students. On this occasion, Rajan Nadkarni, Sudarshan Potbhare of Annamrut informed the attendees. Ankush Chavan, Principal of Zilla Parishad School Varzhadi Taluka Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, Representative students and teachers from Municipal School Naregaon were also present.
Participation of supporting stakeholders
The participation of supporting stakeholders is taken in this process. Regular visits are organized for the donors who help in this project and they are shown the entire process of cooking food. Information is given about all the stages like food handling, packing, parcel dispatch. Apart from this, group meetings are also organized with students who actually eat this food to learn 'How is my food prepared?' and they are also informed about a balanced diet.
