Khultabad (Metropolis Post News Service): Due to the Christmas and New Year holidays, there is a huge rush of devotees at the Shri Ghushneshwar temple in Verul, the twelfth Jyotirlinga. Therefore, the tradition of entering the sanctum sanctorum and offering prayers by touching the Shivalinga directly was stopped from Saturday (December 27) afternoon. Arrangements have been made for darshan by placing an idol of the linga at the entrance of the sanctum.

Even during the massive crowds witnessed during Mahashivratri and the month of Shravan, devotees were allowed to enter the sanctum for darshan. Currently, a similar crowd has gathered due to the holidays. As the crowd continued to increase, the temple administration finally denied permission to enter the sanctum for darshan from Saturday afternoon. The system of offering prayers from outside was started by placing a Jyotirlinga idol at the entrance of the sanctum. During the Corona period, similar arrangements were made for the devotees' darshan; they were not allowed inside the sanctum. Meanwhile, the temple trust board has decided to suspend the VIP and VVIP protocols and has sent a letter to the District Collector regarding the same.
